County Manager
North Carolina General Statute 153A-82 Designates the Manager as Chief Administrator of County Government, responsible to the Board of County Commissioners for directing and supervising the administration of all county offices, departments, board, commissions, and agencies under the general control of the board of commissioners.

Day Reporting Center
The Northampton County Day Reporting Center (DRC) mission is to increase accountability and control over offenders on supervised probation while providing the necessary services to make them productive citizens.

Planning & Zoning
Northampton County Planning and Zoning Department administers and implements regulations and ordinances adopted by the Northampton County Commissioners to guide the growth of the county while providing services to the citizens of Northampton County in a professional, customer friendly manner.

Public Works
The Public Works Department has 24 full time employees dedicated to improve the quality of life, to protect the environment, and to maintain taxpayer investments of County owned properties through the provision of rural and municipal public water and wastewater services; rural, municipal, and commercial solid waste and recycling services; and the maintenance of County owned buildings and grounds.

The Northampton County Recreation Department, in cooperative agreement with Northampton County Schools, strives to provide a variety of leisure opportunities for youth and adults.

Social Services
The Northampton County Department of Social Services provides social services and financial assistance to county residents who meet eligibility criteria. The purpose of these services is to enable individuals to function at their maximum level of independence, provide short-term financial stability while pursuing a goal of self-sufficiency, and to empower families and individuals with skills needed to cope with the pressures associated with being caretakers for children, disabled adults, or the frail elderly.
