Building Inspections

Cooperative Extension Service

The mission of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service is to help people improve the quality of their lives by providing research-based information and informal educational opportunities focused on issues and needs.

County Manager

North Carolina General Statute 153A-82 Designates the Manager as Chief Administrator of County Government, responsible to the Board of County Commissioners for directing and supervising the administration of all county offices, departments, board, commissions, and agencies under the general control of the board of commissioners.

Day Reporting Center

The Northampton County Day Reporting Center (DRC) mission is to increase accountability and control over offenders on supervised probation while providing the necessary services to make them productive citizens.

Economic Development

The Northampton County Economic Development Commission is responsible for initiating, organizing and managing the County’s public sector efforts to strengthen the local economy, improve the standard of living and create sustainable, higher-wage employment opportunities for the people of our county.

Emergency Services

The Emergency Management Department is responsible for the planning, coordinating and operation of Emergency Management activities in Northampton County.

Finance

The Finance Office maintains an accurate accounting of all Local Government resources, obligations and assets in accordance with general accepted governmental accounting principals and by policies adopted by the board of County Commissioners.

Health Department

The mission of the Health Department is to promote health, prevent disease, and protect the environment in order to ensure the public´s health in Northampton County through leadership, vision, advocacy and commitment to the principles of public health practice in our local communities and throughout the state.

Human Resources provides centralized human resources functions, including recruitment, classification, compensation and benefits, training, employee relations, employee recognition, promotion of the City's Core Values, and maintenance of employee records.

Planning & Zoning

Northampton County Planning and Zoning Department administers and implements regulations and ordinances adopted by the Northampton County Commissioners to guide the growth of the county while providing services to the citizens of Northampton County in a professional, customer friendly manner.

Public Works

The Public Works Department has 24 full time employees dedicated to improve the quality of life, to protect the environment, and to maintain taxpayer investments of County owned properties through the provision of rural and municipal public water and wastewater services; rural, municipal, and commercial solid waste and recycling services; and the maintenance of County owned buildings and grounds.

Recreation Office

The Northampton County Recreation Department, in cooperative agreement with Northampton County Schools, strives to provide a variety of leisure opportunities for youth and adults.

Register Of Deeds

The Register of Deeds Office is responsible for the recording, indexing and preservation of all real estate records, vital records, UCC´s, plats and other miscellaneous records.

Sheriff Office

The Sheriff's Office's objective is to serve and protect the citizens of Northampton County. To enforce the laws of N.C and the Constitution of the U.S.

Social Services

The Northampton County Department of Social Services provides social services and financial assistance to county residents who meet eligibility criteria. The purpose of these services is to enable individuals to function at their maximum level of independence, provide short-term financial stability while pursuing a goal of self-sufficiency, and to empower families and individuals with skills needed to cope with the pressures associated with being caretakers for children, disabled adults, or the frail elderly.

Veteran Service Office

Welcome to the Northampton County Veterans Service Office. Our mission is to serve as the advocate for Northampton County veterans and their dependents by assisting them in their application for benefits from the Veterans Administration.
